Solaris Vocal Ensemble presents

Visions of Springtime

April 3 – 5, 2020

The program will highlight classical choral works paired with a variety of choral favorites including  spirituals, folk song plus a jassy song or two.

Opening the concert will be one of Solaris’ favorites – Vivat Musica (Let Music Live) composed by our friend from the Czech Republic, Jiri Laburda. The concert will feature Hymne au Soleil by French composer Lili Boulanger and Samuel Barber’s The Coolin, as well as works by Ralph Vaughan Williams, Johannes Brahms, Dominick Argento, Moses Hogan, William Dawson, Hoagy Carhichael and Robert De Cormier.

We are thrilled to welcome back our friend and colleague, Grammy-nominated Karen Kevra who will perform repertoire with her magic-filled flute as well as accompany Solaris on stunning arrangements of the Spanish folk song El Grillo and the jazz favorite Skylark.
