Solaris is proud to release our joint recording project Echoes—The Choral Music of Richard Stoehr.  A highly acclaimed composer and teacher at the Vienna Academy of Music, Stoehr fled Austria at th beginning of WWII.  Following a teaching position at the renowned Curtis Institute, Stoehr spent the latter part of his life and his career composing and teaching Music courses and German at Saint Michael’s College.  Stoehr’s gift for composing lyrical melodies supported by rich harmonies is evident throughout this recording of classical choral works.  In addition to selections by Solaris Vocal Ensemble, this CD includes choral works recorded by Counterpoint Vocal Ensemble and Bella Voce Women’s Chorus.
